18 Wheeler Accident: A Pennsylvania tractor-trailer driver has been charged following a fatal crash that claimed the life of a Toyota Camry driver in Monroe, according to the Monroe Police Department.
The collision occurred at approximately 8:20 a.m. on Wednesday, July 1, at the intersection of Pageland Highway and White Store Road. Officers responded after receiving reports of a serious crash involving a tractor-trailer and a Toyota Camry. The driver of the Camry died from injuries sustained in the collision. Authorities have not yet publicly identified the victim.
Following an extensive investigation, traffic investigators determined that the tractor-trailer driver, 64-year-old Charles Allen Davis of Pennsylvania, fell asleep while driving. Investigators said the truck traveled off the right side of the roadway before entering the intersection, where it struck the Toyota Camry.
Based on the findings, Davis has been charged with Misdemeanor Death by Vehicle. The investigation has concluded, and the case will proceed through the legal system. Authorities have not released additional details regarding the victim or any future court proceedings.
